I Didn't Do My Homework Because...

10. My mom used it as a dryer sheet.

9. I had homework?!

8. It's against my religion to do any homework.

7. I had better things to do.

6. A sudden wind blew it out of my hand and I never saw it again.

5. I made a paper airplane out of it and it was hijacked.

4. I loaned it to a friend, who moved away suddenly.

3. I didn't want the other kids in class to look bad.

2. I didn't want to add to the teacher's workload.

Here's the #1 reason I didn't do my homework.

1. We ran out of toilet paper.

Gavin didn't want to do his homework, so this is where I found it. Oh, I love Gavin!!

Like Father Like Son

Gavin went with me to return some movies to Redbox and to go grocery shopping. I left the movies in the van while we went shopping. As I was putting the groceries in the back of the van, Gavin was sweet enough to start the van. As we were heading to the nearest Redbox I could only find 1 movie. Gavin and I were searching frantically for the other movie. Not under the seats, not in the doors, and the drawer under the passenger seat was locked. I called the girls to see if I left it at home. So I returned the one movie I had. I thought someone broke into the van and took the movie, but why would they take only one? When we got home Gavin insisted he needed the keys to get something in the van. I told him it was unlocked. Somehow he got the keys and came walking in with the movie. Apparently while he was starting the van, he grabbed the movie, put it under the passenger drawer, and locked it. I guess he didn't want to return the movie yet. So off to Redbox....again.

For some strange reason I could see David doing something like that when he was a kid. Actually, I can see him doing that now. Oh, I love my boys!!

Winter Break Comes To An End

This Christmas break was a lot of fun. Even though we didn't have snow to go sledding. We were going to go ice skating down at the Jensen's, but the weather was too warm and the rink melted. Christmas Eve we went to some friends house for some yummy Mexican food. It's fun to see the kids Christmas morning opening presents they bought for each other. They really put a lot of thought into it this year. Ashley had to get Gavin and Dave boxing gloves. Now Gavin has to box Dave on a daily basis.

It's always a bittersweet day when break is over and the kids go back to school. I'm looking forward to getting my house back.
